please note that we are currently not able to provide personal consultation hours. From now on, the consultation hours will be held over the phone at the times stated below.

Extension of the residence permit:
We are in constant contact with the Foreigners' Office of the city of Bochum. If you have any questions regarding residence permits, extensions etc., please do not hesitate to contact us. We are also happy to assist you with questions concerning the Registration Office (registration, de-registration and re-registration).

Accompaniment during the completion of formalities - possible via phone!
You can also contact us if you need assistance with formalities, filling out German forms, etc. We will gladly assist you via phone.

Welcome Centre

The Welcome Centre is the place to go for international academics, researchers, scientists and other university-related professionals and their families to seek support and advice regarding their stay at Ruhr-Universität Bochum (RUB). The Welcome Centre also offers support and advice to hosts from RUB's faculties.

We are looking forward to assisting your preparation for your trip and supporting you during your stay. We will provide you with information on specific topics relevant to your visit to Bochum, ranging from residence formalities, to useful tips to help you feel at home. We are looking forward to hearing from you!
