Registering with the city

All citizens in Germany must register with the Resident Registration Office of the town or city they are living in.

Registration must take place within one week of moving (even within Germany).

To register in Bochum, you need to go to the Citizens Advice Bureau in the town hall or your local Citizens Advice Bureau, for example in the Uni-Center. Your details will be registered there.
