International pilots join the university administration
The University Administration is often the first contact point for RUB's international members. The administrative bodies, in particular the International Office, offer support and assistance to international students and researchers and promote the mobility of RUB's members.
The administration departments and offices have recently appointed "international pilots" who are the first points of contact for international university members and visitors. These pilots are members of staff with an interest in international issues. They display outstanding administrative capabilities, intercultural competencies and they have a good command of the English language. They will help international visitors find the right contact person for their needs, and they are available to answer questions, offer advice and even translate if this is necessary to resolve the matter at hand.
The pilots learn from every challenge they are faced with and they use the solutions they find to further increase the level of knowledge in their administrative department or office. This enables business processes to be opitimised, ways of working to be revised, and ultimately helps to improve the overall service for international guests.
