Rooms in the halls of residence for exchange students
The International Office offers a special service for Erasmus students and students from partner universities who will be staying for one or two semesters. You can book accommodation through us for the duration of your exchange.
The International Office reserves rooms for you in the halls of residence run by AkaFö Student Services, located close to the campus.
The rooms are furnished and the costs for gas, electricity, heating and internet are included in the rent. The rent is about 250,- up to 300,- Euro per month depending on the location.
There are some new rooms in shared flats in a dorm called "Uni-Forum", that belongs to RUB and is newly renovated by autumn 2013. The rent for a room in this dorm is between 350,- and 400,- Euro per month.
Since the International Office can only reserve a limited number of rooms for exchange students, you should register as early as possible and you should be flexible.
How to make a reservation
When you are filling in the pre-enrolment form, please tick "yes" when asked for "reservation of accommodation" and fill in the "reservation request form" you find on this page (on the right). Please send the signed form back to us by post, fax or email attachment.
Please note: Rooms can only be booked for a complete month and not for single days! However, if you arrive in mid-March or mid-September, you will only be charged rent for half of the month!
As soon as we have received your completed application for accommodation, we will send you confirmation of your registration. Please pay the deposit within four weeks after receiving the confirmation, as the reservation will only be binding if we received the deposit payment in advance.
Rooms have to be booked for at least two months. If you want to move out of your halls of residence before your contract ends you have to give us two months' notice.
