A good application always consists of at least a CV and a covering letter. You may also need to add transcripts, references etc. to your application depending on the requirements. You should only enclose a photo when it’s common practice to do so in the host country. Photos are not part of the application in countries such as the United States and Great Britain due to regulations regarding equal opportunities.
You should take your time when completing the application to avoid mistakes. An untidy layout and spelling mistakes could disqualify your application immediately.

You’ll find detailed information and advice concerning the application process on RUB’s Careers Service website. You can download the guidebook “Bewerbungs-Check” for free from the site.
You also have the possibility to send your application to the Careers Service. The team will proof-read it and provide you with detailed feedback. This service is free of charge for all RUB students and members of the RUB Alumni (up to one year after graduating). However it is only available for applications written in German.
